A steadier view when the road ahead is unclear
Meridian Cusp works alongside business leaders navigating demanding periods — quietly, carefully, and without adding to the noise.
What We Offer
Three ways we can sit alongside your business
Each engagement is shaped around what the situation actually calls for — not a standardised report, but a considered piece of work suited to where things stand.
Situation Assessment Engagement
A careful examination of a business currently navigating a difficult stretch, undertaken in confidence and with respect for the people involved. We sit with leadership, review recent financials and operational indicators, and spend time understanding the present picture properly before suggesting any direction.
- Written assessment with measured possibilities
- Interviews with leadership and key colleagues
- Conducted in full confidence — suited to SMEs
Recovery Advisory Engagement
A companion engagement for leaders working through a period of business recovery, offering a steady external voice alongside their own efforts. We meet on a regular cadence — typically fortnightly — to review progress, think through the current set of questions, and offer structured input where helpful.
- Fortnightly meetings with meeting summaries
- Evolving reference document across the engagement
- Email reachability between sessions — four to six months
Stakeholder Communication Session
A confidential session for leaders preparing to hold a difficult conversation with a stakeholder — a lender, a significant supplier, or investors — about the current state of the business. Structured around understanding what needs to be communicated, to whom, and in what spirit.
- Two-hour structured session with background reading
- Short written outline of communication approach
- Occasional follow-up debrief available
Why Meridian Cusp
Quiet capabilities that matter when conditions are difficult
Independent perspective
An outside view, free of internal dynamics, often sees what has become difficult to notice from within.
Full confidentiality
Every engagement operates under a formal confidentiality agreement. What we discuss remains between us.
Measured, not reactive
We do not recommend under pressure. Our suggestions are drawn from a careful reading of the actual situation.
Respectful of your people
Turnaround work touches lives. We approach every engagement with care for the individuals involved, not just the numbers.
Malaysia-grounded experience
Regulatory context, banking relationships, and SME market conditions in Malaysia inform everything we do.
Clear written deliverables
Every engagement produces written materials you can refer back to — not verbal impressions that fade.
Is this the right moment to have a conversation?
There is no obligation in reaching out. An initial conversation costs nothing and gives you a clearer sense of whether working together might be useful.
Common Questions
Questions we often hear at the start
Who are your engagements suited for?
Primarily owner-led and closely-held SMEs in Malaysia that are navigating a period of financial or operational difficulty — businesses where the leadership is close to the situation and could benefit from a considered external voice alongside them.
How confidential is the process?
Every engagement is covered by a formal confidentiality agreement before any information is shared. We do not discuss our clients' situations with anyone outside the engagement, and we do not use client circumstances as illustrative material in any public form.
What does an initial conversation involve?
A short call — typically 30 to 45 minutes — where you describe your situation in broad terms and we describe how we work. There is no commitment involved and no fee for this conversation. Its purpose is simply to determine whether there might be a useful fit.
How quickly can an engagement begin?
Subject to our current availability, a Situation Assessment can typically commence within one to two weeks of the initial conversation. The Recovery Advisory and Stakeholder Communication engagements have similar lead times. We will be straightforward with you if capacity does not allow for prompt commencement.
Do you take on turnaround implementation work?
Our engagements are advisory in nature — we sit alongside leadership rather than stepping into operational roles. We offer direction and structured thinking, and we can help you identify when specialist implementation support might be needed and what form that might take.
Are fees payable in full upfront?
The Situation Assessment and Stakeholder Communication Session are invoiced as single engagements upon commencement. The Recovery Advisory Engagement is billed monthly. We are open to discussing payment arrangements where a business's present cash position makes standard terms difficult.
